Prof. of Physics & Organizing Secretary - PINTECH’18 narrated the objectives of the workshop. Prof.Dr.G.Srinivasu, Registrar, SCSVMV, the President of the function honoured the Chief Guest Prof.Dr.Ramasamy Murugan, Professor and Head, Department of Physics, Pondicherry University and released the manual on various Instrumentation techniques covered in PINTECH 2018 and the first copy was received by the Chief guest.
Prof.Dr.bRamasamy Murugan, addressed the gathering and inaugurated the workshop. Prof. Dr.S.Balaji, Dean (Faculty of Science) and Prof. K.C.Srinivas, Director, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Centre for Advanced Research (SJCAR) felicitated the gathering. The first keynote address was delivered by Prof.Dr.Ramasamy Murugan on the topic “Instrumentation for Synthesis and Characterization of Advanced Functional Materials” and the second keynote address was delivered by Prof.K.C.Srinivas on the topic “Scientific Instruments as Import Substitutes / affordable options to Educational Institutions – an initiative of SCSVMV Deemed University”. Participants clarified their queries during the discussion time. In the afternoon session, participants were divided into batches and the fundamentals and working principle of various instrumentation techniques were explained and demonstrated.
Instrumentation techniques demonstrated are:
Thin Film Characterization (PVD method)
Rheology & Ultrasonic Studies (Solids & Liquids)
Molecular modeling (Gaussian & Gauss view)
Mineralogical studies
Crystal growth and Characterization
FTIR Techniques
